behind the site:
Hey, I’m Amy!
I am a curious, free-spirited, 30 year old who loves to learn and explore. This blog will be a culmination of some of my favorite things: yoga, travel, food, wellness, art, and community.
A little bit about me:
Raleigh, North Carolina is where I lay my head at night! I live with my boyfriend, Tyler, and we both happen to be Pennsylvania natives.
Although my degree is in dietetics and nutrition, I ended up finding my way into People Services (HR) for a tech company. I am a Business partner by day and let all the things I mentioned above trickle into my days like rays of sunshine 🌞
My passion for yoga ignited when I entered this “new life” after college. Taking a step into the corporate world was felt so serious and stiff. After finding what I thought was a groove, I made space to start to focus on my health. H2L Studio and Indigo Hot Yoga Center has helped to fuel me through it all. The sense of community and connection within these studio walls is something you simply cannot explain. I truly love the transformative power of yoga on our own mind, body, and spirit.
After discovering first-hand how yoga can transform by reducing anxiety and stress, give clarity of mind, and promote healthful living, I’m inspired to bring the joy of yoga to others. I dove in head-first into Indigo Hot Yoga Center’s 200 hour teacher training program. I then completed a sculpt training and am 90% of the way through the 300-hour teacher training through the same amazing studio! These incredible and intense trainings have helped me to increase my worth as a teacher by broadening my knowledge base and stabilizing my personal practice.
I would describe my classes as a flow, where students’ are guided through movement with each breath. I encourage shifting the focus within, quieting the chatter in the mind, and strengthening body and spirit. I enjoy teaching beginners and experienced yogis alike; always offering modifications so that all levels can participate. Yoga does not require flexibility, just a willingness to listen to your body and learn. Please, come to the mat as you are - you won’t regret it! :)
I am sure you’re wondering…
How can I help to guide you?
Well, in a lot of ways actually! Maybe reading my blog will inspire you to practice yoga, cook a fresh meal, or plan an adventure. If inspiring you is what my little piece of the internet does, that’s amazing!
If you need a bit more motivation, an accountability buddy, or you just want to connect, there are a ton of ways that we can work together:
